On May 24th, we experienced a powerful day in one of Mexico's most iconic ecosystems. GreenSouls Day Xochimilco, organized by Virutex and with the invaluable support of Mustela, demonstrated that when brands, community, and purpose unite, the environmental and social impact multiplies.

🌎 Restoring with action: our environmental impact

Early this morning, 37 eco-conscious individuals gathered to kayak the canals of Xochimilco, where we conducted a trash cleanup across more than 4.7 km² of waterways. The result? A collection of 89 kg of waste , including:

♻️ 35% recyclable plastics

🧴 25% degraded plastics

🛠 30% reusable metals

🍃 10% organic

Thanks to this event, we helped reduce environmental pollution , protect local species, and promote the conservation of waterways. These types of activities are essential for promoting real sustainability strategies that regenerate our planet.

Biodiversity in danger:

During the day, we learned about the endangered species that inhabit this ecosystem: the Mexican axolotl , the river turtle , and the water bird . The educational talk delved into how climate change, pollution, and urbanization are threatening these animals.

Many attendees were unaware that the axolotl is critically endangered , or that Xochimilco is home to more than 300 bird species . But at the end of the activity, everyone left with a new mission: to care for and protect this ecosystem, a symbol of resilience and regeneration .

Donations that transform lives

Thanks to Virutex's commitment, we delivered 10 complete kitchen kits to families in Xochimilco who make a living from local food sales. Each kit will improve the quality and hygiene of their daily work, positively impacting their income and well-being.

Well-being with purpose

We also had a space for inner connection: during Wellness Time , we did meditation and breathing exercises to reconnect with our surroundings. Participants highlighted how these breaks help reduce stress and increase environmental awareness.

Meaningful brand experiences

All of this would not have been possible without the brands that believe in making a positive environmental impact. From kayaking at sunrise and collecting trash to visiting the wildlife area and making final donations, every moment was designed to leave a real mark.

Virutex and Mustela demonstrated how to do meaningful sustainability marketing : not just talking about purpose, but living it, activating it and sharing it.
