On October 20, 2024, at VITA, we lived a unique experience where sport, sustainability and commitment to our city came together in a powerful way; this event was more than a race: it was a symbol of how small collective actions can have a great impact on social and environmental well-being. During the day, more than 700 runners joined together to run the streets of Medellín, reaching a total of 6,545 kilometers. This represents our commitment to collect 6,545 kg of waste, meeting the goal of collecting 1 kg of garbage for every kilometer traveled.
VITA's purpose was clear: to run for a more conscious and sustainable Medellín. Together with our allies such as Task, Tetra Pak, INDER, Agua Cristal, Electrolit, El Tesoro, San Diego, Almacentro, Telemedellín and many more, we managed to make this event a true revolution of well-being and awareness. Each step taken by the participants was a step towards a city that is more committed to its future and its environment.
Thanks to the participation in this event, Medellín will be positively impacted by the collection of waste in the most critical areas of the city. Our commitment is not only limited to organizing a race, but to actively contribute to the cleaning and recovery of the spaces that need it most.
GreenSouls, as organizer of VITA, reaffirms its mission to create events and experiences that promote positive impact. This has only been the beginning of a movement that does not stop, we will continue working for a more sustainable future, where sport and environmental awareness come together.
