From September 26-28, 2024, GreenSouls held its first international event on the paradisiacal beaches of Huatulco and Mazunte, Oaxaca, Mexico. PRĀYA Fest brought together companies, influencers, media outlets, and local communities, united by a common goal: to create a positive environmental and social impact through concrete actions of purposeful tourism and conservation.

Beach clean-up and marine conservation
One of the key points of the festival was the clean-up of La Entrega Beach, where participants managed to collect more than 70 kg of waste, helping to prevent this waste from reaching the sea and affecting marine ecosystems. This activity, supported by the company Virutex-Ilko and other brands, not only had a direct impact on the restoration of the beach, but also promoted environmental awareness among attendees and local communities. The event demonstrated how small collective actions can generate significant change in environmental protection.

Species release and mangrove restoration
Another highlight was the release of 85 Olive Ridley sea turtles and 47 Acutus crocodiles in Mazunte. These species, endangered due to the degradation of their habitats, were released into a protected natural environment, contributing to the restoration of local populations and ecological balance. In addition, participants were able to learn about the importance of mangroves in the conservation of biodiversity and how these ecosystems act as natural barriers against flooding, while offering refuge to numerous species.
Social and cultural impact
PRĀYA Fest not only promoted environmental sustainability, but also had a strong focus on positive social impact. During the event, donations were made to local communities, such as cleaning kits and school supplies for the children of the José Vasconcelos Primary School. The participation of influencers and partner brands helped amplify the sustainability message on social media and in the media, raising global awareness about the urgent need to protect our oceans and ecosystems.

The power of purposeful tourism
The event was a clear example of how purposeful tourism can contribute to the sustainable development of a region. By integrating conservation actions into the tourist experience, participants not only enjoyed the beauty of Huatulco and Mazunte, but also became active protagonists in protecting the environment. In addition, these types of initiatives strengthen the local economy by involving suppliers and employees in the area, generating a positive social impact that benefits the communities.
