Environmental sustainability isn't built with words alone; it's lived through real actions. That's why ISDIN, in partnership with GreenSouls and with the support of the Coralina Environmental Corporation , took the first major step toward coral restoration in the Colombian Caribbean : the inauguration of its first coral nursery on San Andrés Island .

During May 28 and 29, 2025 , 29 people, including brand ambassadors, dermatologists, and consumers, experienced a unique journey of education, connection with the environment, and real action for the oceans.

Coral restoration: sowing life under the sea

During the workshops, participants were trained by marine biologists in microfragmentation and underwater coral planting techniques, successfully planting 70 fragments of the Madracis auretenra coral species . This species is key due to its rapid growth and ability to adapt to climate change.

In addition, the first underwater metal structure was built to support the future floating rope nursery in the La Piscinita area, a strategic point assigned by Coralina for the development of this initiative.

Each planted coral represents a concrete action of environmental protection , restoration of marine habitats and strengthening of ocean biodiversity.

Social sustainability: employment, equity and local development

The event not only left its mark underwater, but also on land. Thanks to this experience:

- 20 direct jobs and 85 indirect jobs were created, promoting decent and local work.

- 18 women and 11 men participated, consolidating a majority female participation in the restoration and environmental education process.

- All attendees received practical training on marine restoration and coral planting, strengthening ecological awareness through direct experience.

Purpose-driven partnerships: a shared impact model

This project was made possible thanks to the collaboration between ISDIN, GreenSouls, Coralina and multiple local partners, who ensured respect for the culture of the territory, sustainable logistics and impeccable execution.

From the organization of activities to technical production and the contracting of services, priority was given to working with local suppliers , which reflects a social impact strategy aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ESG criteria.
