The event held in San Andrés was much more than an isolated experience: it was part of a comprehensive project between ISDIN and GreenSouls that aims to plant more than 2,000 corals in the archipelago. This alliance seeks to go beyond skincare, connecting the community, consumers, and marine ecosystems around a common cause: ocean protection and sustainability with real impact .

For two days, with technical support from the Coralina Environmental Corporation, 175 fragments of Madracis Aurentenra coral were planted in underwater nurseries around the island. Led by local biologists and with the support of fishermen, we worked on restoring degraded reefs. Beyond the planting itself, we aimed to raise awareness among participants about the importance of corals as natural barriers against climate change and vital refuges for marine biodiversity.

This project had a unique element: the active participation of ISDIN consumers. Thanks to a national contest, 18 people traveled to San Andrés to experience coral planting firsthand. The initiative demonstrated that care can go beyond skin care, connecting science, innovation, and collective action in environmental protection. For ISDIN, engaging its consumers is a tangible way to build community around sustainability.

The day also included a social component. We distributed 19 kits containing towels and ISDIN Pediatrics Fusion Water sunscreen to children on the island, promoting sun protection from an early age. In addition, we donated 24 units of ISDIN Fusion Water Magic sunscreen to fishermen, boat operators, and biologists, who face high levels of UV radiation exposure daily in their work.

Another key aspect of this experience was the strengthening of San Andrés' economy. More than half of the suppliers involved in the event were from the island, which helped generate employment, promote sustainable tourism, and contribute to the territory's economic development.

Overall, this experience directly contributed to seven Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): no poverty, good health and well-being, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, climate action, life below water, and partnerships for the goals. In other words, not only was an ecosystem restored, but work was also done on social sustainability and collaborative governance.

The alliance between ISDIN and GreenSouls reaffirms that environmental stewardship must go hand in hand with education and community engagement. Planting corals is not just about restoring the sea; it's about planting awareness, a future, and a purpose. This is just the beginning of a project that will continue to expand until it reaches its goal of planting 2,000 corals in San Andrés .
